Tradewinds restaurant offers excellent food. read more

The ambiance of the Inn is very quiet, laid back and relaxing. Everything is clean and well-maintained. Shuffleboard, horseshoes, tennis, swimming pool and small beach add to the package. We will be back!

“The staff is wonderful”
We recently spent a week in the Matthews Lodge at the Island Inn. The room was clean and comfortable, but very small for a week’s stay. It did have a screened in porch with table and chairs which expanded the space a little – read more

if the weather is nice. The restaurant doesn’t serve lunch and the continental breakfast needs some new options – it’s very limited. We didn’t go there to dinner as other nearby restaurants were more highly rated in Trip Advisor. The beach and activities are very, very nice, and the staff is wonderful.

“Nice place to stay”
My husband & I stayed here last month for an extended weekend trip to get out of the cold. While the weather was not ideal, this property certainly was. Such wonderful, helpful staff and beautiful grounds. The beach directly in front is superb for shelling in the morning and sunsets in the late afternoon. Our room was quite large and very clean. on site was fabulous as well – we ate there 3 times! Other reviews indicated there was an issue with the hot water – just give it a few minutes, its get nice & hot!
This was our first visit to Sanibel and we would highly recommend Island Inn!

“Wish we had booked longer”
We just booked one night in a Gulfview Studio to break the journey between the Keys and St Pete. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and directed to our room upstairs in one of the separate blocks. It was after dark, but even without the view it was a pleasant surprise after the rather limited accommodation in the “resort” we had come from. The large room read more

had a well equipped kitchen at one end, a dining table, a sofa and two beds. Everything was clean and in good condition. The bathroom was a good size with his and hers basins. It was late and there was nowhere obvious to eat nearby, so we went to the resort restaurant. This is quite upmarket, and the most expensive meal we had in two weeks, but it was good. We slept well, comfortable beds and no noise. The next morning we could fully appreciate the resort. The blocks are spread out in a sandy area with trees and vegetation. Our room had a large balcony with furniture and fly screens, with a view towards the sea. Breakfast was fairly limited, but not the worst on the trip. If we had been there longer we would have bought some food as we were fully equipped for cooking and eating in the room. There is direct access to the beach, which disappears into the distance in both directions. There is plenty of sand above the high water mark, and lots of shells. If we had known how good it was, we would have planned a longer stay.

“Didn’t want to leave”
Me and a friend came down for a 2 night stay, our first time in Sanibel! We loved it at the Island Inn, stayed in the Kimball Lodge. The renovation that has been done is wonderful! As soon as we entered Kimball Lodge, it all smells brand new and is new. The decor is awesome, read more

as well as our view. We loved the screened in lanai, with the gulf view. I would definetly go back and stay there again!!! The only complaint I have are the no see ums, think I’m allergic to them. Have bites up and down my arms, legs, and ankles; but we did sit outside and grilled our last night there and I was eaten alive by them! But would go back tomorrow if I had the chance!!!
