The Island Inn is getting ready and so is Sanibel and Captiva Island. One of the favorite island festivities among many residents and visitors alike for more than two decades is the Luminary Festival Weekend.
The Island Inn on Sanibel is proud to announce that we are a Silver Sponsor of the F.I.S.H. (Friends In Service Here – the human services organization on Sanibel and Captiva) 10K Race on Sanibel Island.
The Island Inn is proud to be hosting Sanibel’s Party of the Year! The Shell Museum’s annual benefit is a firm favorite on the island and this year promises to be even more spectacular than ever. Book your stay directly with the Island Inn during this time and receive a 20% discount on “Under The Sea” gala tickets!
Sanibel offers first-class kayaking and paddleboarding. Canoe & Kayak Magazine and Paddler Magazine both list Sanibel as a top destination for great weather, abundant wildlife, world-class beaches and proximity to other hot spots such as Captiva and Pine Island.
Melinda Graham was commissioned to redecorate the guestrooms and cottages to reflect what the Inn represents to so many people today – a beautiful, cozy, home away from home on the beach – without losing its charm or history.
Sanibel and Captiva islands are a great place to trade in your afternoon car ride for a relaxing bike ride along the trails. With an average elevation of four feet, the islands’ geography makes biking practically effortless.
Residents and visitors begin returning to the islands and, although this has been a very busy summer, we’re looking forward to seeing our old friends.
Thanksgiving is less than a month away and we’ll be hosting many guests for the holiday.
Sanibel Island’s Annual Sanibel Thanksgiving Celebration will take place on Sunday, November 20th at the Sanibel Community House starting at 6:45pm. All are invited!
The Island Inn now has kayaks and paddleboards available to rent, directly on the beach! Paddle along the coast and enjoy the warm water and the beautiful view from the other side of the beach. Visit the front desk for rentals and more information.
This year for the 22nd Annual “Ding” Darling Days, Oct. 16-22, J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island adds new daily theme days to the calendar, plus character meet-and-greets on Family Fun Day. The Island Inn is located 2 miles from “Ding” Darling Wildlife Refuge.
The Island Inn on Sanibel has rooms and cottages available for the upcoming Captiva Triathlon on Sunday, September 18th. The Inn, which is offering a 10% discount during this time, has select accommodations for all competing triathletes and their families.
Born Shoes, the leader in comfort fashion footwear, selected the Island Inn for its photo shoot for the Spring 2012 Line – Infinite Summer.
Born Shoes, which are 100% hand made from natural products, chooses locations that have the same natural, earthy feel as their shoes. This is Born’s third photo shoot in Southwest Florida, and it will not be their last hosted by the Island Inn.
The historic Island Inn, the oldest Inn on Sanibel, has just completed phase one of a major refurbishment program modernizing all aspects of the Inn. More than $250,000 has been invested over the past year to upgrade and enhance the facilities….
As every season comes to a close at the Island Inn, we happily embrace the long, lazy days of summer.
After a wonderful holiday season, beautiful winter, and busy Spring Break, we are gearing up for a spectacular summer.
